  • .

  • Preparing lunches for volunteers: Volunteers are needed to make sandwiches (provided by WMI) and share in fellowship with other volunteers. Time commitment: 1 hour per week
  • .

  • Event planning: WMI is planning several events revolving around the national World Water Day in March 2007. These events include Water for Life, our annual fundraising gala, the Walk for Water, a 3 mile walk through downtown Charleston, a photography exhibit at the City Gallery at Waterfront Park, and more. Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week from now until early April 2007
  • .

  • Rotary Liaison: This person will coordinate Rotary participation. Duties will include promoting and managing volunteer activities and financial contributions. The Rotary Liaison may live anywhere in the U.S. but must be able to communicate regularly by phone and e-mail. This position requires a one-year commitment of several hours per week.

  • Production Facility: Each Living Water Treatment System (LWTS) is assembled, tested, and packed for shipping entirely by volunteers at WMI. Volunteers are the life blood of this organization. Without their participation, WMI would struggle to maintain its non-profit ministry because of the cost of labor associated with the production of the LWTS. It is our volunteer labor force that allows us to donate the LWTS units to those in need of clean drinking water. There are a variety of tasks with a wide range of skill set requirements that go into the production of the unit. In fact, we have something for just about everybody! Training is done on-site, so anyone with the desire to get involved is welcome regardless of their educational background or work experience. We have a large assortment of tasks that need to be done everyday, so there is always something new and exciting to do. Volunteers can expect to be involved at all levels of production from making filters to testing systems.
